Tokka Week 5
Day 1: Rumble

"They're here!" Toph yelled, feeling the Earth as Appa's large feet hit the ground. Sokka ran to the door, fumbling with his hair as he went, and opened the door to see Katara and Aang walking towards him. A small swell was placed under Katara dress; she held her hand on the top of it.

"Sis! Aang! You're finally here." Sokka greeted them, throwing his arm around Katara's shoulders and kissing her on the cheek. Toph's feet hurt so much she couldn't bear to stand up. The baby inside her kicked happily and the sound of Sokka's voice.

"We brought sea prunes!" Aang said, walking inside and putting the bowl on the nearest table. The excitement in his voice was very obviously forced. "Toph!" He said at the sight of her. "You look so much bigger than we last saw you."

"Ugh, I know. I feel ready to pop." She grunted, attempting to stand.

"No, no, stay seated. Your feet must hurt."

"Yup." Toph grunted again, throwing her feet on the chair next to her.

"You look bigger, too, Katara. How far along are you?" Sokka asked as they all sat around the table with Toph.

"About 13 weeks." Katara said, rubbing her belly. Aang blushed from across the table.

"And where's Tenzin? We were expecting him."

"We dropped him off with Zuko and Mai." Aang smiled "We figured it'd be nice to have a day with just the four of us, like old times."

"Well, I'd love to chat, but dinner would get cold meanwhile." Sokka mentioned, standing up. "I'll go grab it."

"I'll help you." Aang said as he followed Sokka into the other room.

Katara and Toph remained, neither one of them wanting to stand, and discussed their pregnant eating habits and name choices.

They could smell the food before it arrived. Katara moaned in delight at the smell of the food from the South Pole. Sokka purposely put most of Katara's favorites in front of her and himself; the rest was common Earth Kingdom food for Toph and Aang. He knew how much they hating Water Tribe food.

"Oh, wow." Katara said when she took her first bite. Her eyes were closed and a smile was touching her lips. "This is so delicious! Who made it?"

"Sokka, actually." Toph smiled.

"Really? I don't remember you being able to cook this well."

Sokka shrugged. "Well, I guess it's one of those things about having a pregnant wife." He looked at Toph, smiling and shaking his head.

Aang and Katara looked at him, puzzled. "What do you mean?" Aang asked, and Sokka looked up to see them staring at him. Now he was confused. "You mean Katara didn't have food cravings?"

Katara nodded. "Well, yes, but-"

"Let me explain." Toph said, smiling at everyone's confusion. "I get cravings. A lot actually, and when I do it's oddly specific. And Sokka's a nice enough husband that he makes exactly what I want when I want it. He cooks for me almost every day."

"Oh, Sokka, how sweet." Katara said, smiling at her brother.

"Actually, she kind of forces it out of me." Sokka shrugged, smiling.

"Sokka!" Toph yelled. Aang and Katara giggled.

"Like last week! I swear, the whole house rumbled when her stomach growled. And she kept causing an earthquake when I didn't get her what she wanted."

Toph stomped the ground hard, causing the chair underneath Sokka to jump a few inches in the air. Katara and Aang were laughing so hard by now they almost couldn't breathe.

"Hey!" Sokka grunted. "It's not like I want it any other way." He smiled, looking at Toph lovingly.

Toph smiled. "You're lucky you're so good-looking."
Yayy Tokka Week! :squee: It feels so nice to come back to Avatar. Toph and Sokka, especially. Gosh, I love these two.

This will be my worst entry for TW this year, I promise. The rest will be much better.

Teehee. That's pretty hilarious.

I liked the dynamic here between the two characters. Though I might've seen Sokka being a little more arrogant about his cooking skills, I think you did a nice job with a different spin on the issue, which is Sokka joking around with Toph's cravings and getting promptly punished for it.

The dialogue, which was basically the bulk of the story, was pretty entertaining and it didn't get me bored until you got to the punch line at the end. :)

Good job! Keep writing!
